Portable Washer in Action

Our Portable Washer does the job, the drying is by hanging items to dry after spinning them.  You can easily dry them in less then a day if hung outside, but if inside can take up to a day and a half.  Took about 45 minutes to wash and spin and about 9 gallons of water.

The loads are not big.  Here I did a heavy pair of shorts, one pair of compression socks, two pair of underwear, two T-shirts and a handkerchief.  So for two folks it will take an hour and a half to do two days worth and about 18 gallons of water.

Here is the unit in our shower with the electric outlet around the corner on the desk.  We fill it with the shower hose and let it drain down the shower drain.

Here you see the washer full and ready to go, we wash for about 15 minutes a load.

In the above photo washing is done and we are ready to start spinning.  We insert the spinning basket, it only holds about a third of the wash so here is the time consumer about 3 minutes per spin load.

Here we are trying to dry out the washer and one wash load in the shower took a day and a half.  So outside is better if allowed at your camping area.  Coin are still a good option if you have one around because of load size and using a dryer.  One washer and dryer load can cost a total of 3 to 5 dollars depending.  But id you have a couple hours and the water the above washer works OK.

On the stove top skillet bread

On the stove top easy skillet bread.

I make my skillet bread in a 5 inch cast iron skillet.  One cup of self rising flour and water, mix well and roll out on a floured board shape into a round about the size of the skillet.  Heat up the skillet with oil or grease to medium or medium high.  Place dough in pan and watch so you do not burn and flip as it starts turning golden brown on the bottom.  Repeat on the other side and then serve with butter.  You can make two thinner flat skillet breads with this mix and they will cook quicker.

We eat half and set the other half back in the skillet foe a photo.

I turned it out on a board and paper towel and started cutting so we could butter and enjoy.  Please note the bread cut up is not the thickness, I made strips then laid them on their side and cut them in half for the butter.  A close look at the pieces you can see the air bubbles in the bread.

RV Escape Window with added handhold

RV Escape Window with added handhold, we are both now over 60 and felt this would be a good addition.  The base of the window is about 6 feet above the ground.  Here is a photo of our ladder the loop for a hand hold secured to the ladder and our back escape window.

I used a water knot that I learned from my old rock climbing days.  I used a 6 foot dog leash and tied off the rest for future uses.

Below you can see my arm reaching out through our emergency window.  Once you have your hand through the loop you should be able to hold on while you pull your self through the window.

We also keep a fire extinguisher above the escape window and put an additional CO2 and smoke detector in our bedroom.
